The historical & traditional town of Artá is situated in the middle of a wide valley at the foot of a small mountain in the northeast of Mallorca. Here the cultural heritage and traditions are consistently preserved. The parish church Transfiguracio del Senyor dominates the silhouette of Artás and the centre, which has for the most part been converted into a pedestrian zone and attracts crowds of residents and tourists every Tuesday when the popular market of Arta takes place.
