The attractive village of Breukelen (around 14,500 inhabitants) has developed very well in recent years. Many nice shops have established themselves. Branches of large supermarkets such as Albert Heijn and Jumbo as well as a Hema, Kruitvat and Etos have also managed to find the village and can be reached in 10 minutes by bike.
