Descripción

Klapstraat 2 in Vreeland, called ‘De Scholl’, is a unique, national heritage-listed gem located in an equally unique spot with its own mooring in the river ‘de Vecht’ in the middle of the old centre of the picturesque village of Vreeland.

This beautiful village villa has been perfectly renovated into a comfortable and luxurious home while retaining the beautiful details and characteristics that make this historic building so special.

The atmospheric home has views that no other building in Vreeland will have. The view is truly astonishing how beautiful it is to look straight down the front street from the living room, but also from the bedroom and from the roof terrace, with the ‘Van Leer Bridge’ and the river Vecht in the background. A picture that could have come straight from a postcard or a 17th-century painting! And we haven't even mentioned the beautiful light that enters through the many windows and patio doors. Truly a place of which there is only one in the village.

It is often said that we estate agents use many superlatives in our texts, but to be honest I have run out of superlatives to describe this house! The photos give a good impression, but you really will have to come and see it with your own eyes. So consider this a warm invitation for an extensive tour.

Layout:
The house is on the corner of the main street that leads to Klapstraat. This is the oldest part of Vreeland with the old reformed church behind the house. Most of the buildings here date from the early 17th and 18th centuries.

You approach the house via Klapstraat, where a beautiful, authentic, monumental front door welcomes you into the house. A central hall with Belgian bluestone tiles leads to the kitchen/dining room and provides access to the cosy living room on the right.
The living room has an oak floor (wide sections) and a cosy fireplace. This lovely, light living room also has double doors opening onto a small terrace that borders the front street.

The owner opted for professionally customised cabinets in the living room, which are beautifully crafted and built right up to the high ceiling. Adjacent to the living room is a cosy dining room with a window for natural light and a beautiful view of the street. Next to this dining room is another lovely hallway/passageway to the kitchen/dining room. This second hallway between the kitchen and the dining room also contains a toilet and the staircase to the second floor.

The kitchen is another top-notch example of customisation. It provides you with all the necessary built-in appliances and storage space thanks to the tall, fixed cupboards. Here too, the interior architect has made clever use of the space by integrating a cosy dining area with a fixed bench and a separate table. Over breakfast or just a drink in the kitchen, you have an idyllic view of the very old church of Vreeland. Here you will also find a door to the courtyard with a storage room at the back.

First floor:
Staircase to the first floor. Landing with the spacious guest room on the street side and the spacious master bedroom at the end of the hall. This large bedroom also has custom-made built-in wardrobes for your clothes. On the landing there is a separate toilet and a separate cupboard for the washing machine and dryer.

Here you will also find the bathroom, which has a freestanding bath, walk-in shower and two washbasins on an attractive vanity unit. The bathroom has a marble floor with underfloor heating.

At the end of the hall/landing there is the possibility to create a workspace or an extra guest room. The staircase to the roof terrace is also located here. The large roof terrace can be accessed through two enormous sliding doors in the roof. Here you can enjoy peace, privacy and, above all, the sun all day long. You have a fantastic view of the village of Vreeland with the ‘Van Leer bridge’, the beautiful monumental buildings on the main street and the restaurant ‘De Nederlanden’ in the background. Before entering the roof terrace, you will also see a hatch that gives access to the spacious attic, where the central heating boiler (2014) is also located.

Back garden and boat mooring:
The house has a small but very pleasant private back garden on the Vecht. Here you can moor a small boat and enjoy water sports and the lively atmosphere on the water. Drinking a glass of wine as the sun sets, it is certainly a great place to be.

General text about Vreeland:
Vreeland is an oasis of tranquillity in the rural heart of the Netherlands between the major cities of Amsterdam and Utrecht. The beautiful village centre is considered the pearl of the Vecht region and the river Vecht is within walking distance. The central location of this beautiful village is favourable, because Amsterdam, Utrecht and Hilversum are 20 minutes away by car. The wetlands of Loosdrecht, Vinkeveen and Kortenhoef are accessible via the arterial roads and via the river Vecht, which flows through Vreeland. Vreeland is an ideal base for water recreation and tourist walking and cycling routes along the Vecht and lakes. Swimming is allowed all year round in the nearby lake Wijde Blik (very clean bathing water).
